i will start with a mike mareen's old video (sorry mike),but it shows that the macarena is actually born in hamburg in 1979, with italo master and two pretty dancing girls :

as i am a big fan of mike mareen and i just come back from russia, let's watch a concert of mike in russia in 2005 :

Hello,

It has been for me the opportunity to start working with reason 4.0, adobe audition 3.0 and also my favourite analogue synths atc1 chameleon. (in addition to my classic setup soundforge, ableton live and audiomulch). I just dont like the idea of using the same software. Life is changes.

Just a first demo but give it a try. :)

I have been a huge fan of this famous british outstanding label from the beginning and even if they are not today as amazing as they were before, i must pay some respect to them for all the good they bring to us thru many years and tons of releases. From Aphex Twin to Squarepusher and Jackson and his computer band or Battles and Autechre ... many incredible artist and bands, and a huge influence on the current electronic scene.

If you had the opportunity to see battles, richard d james or squarepusher live acts you might agreed with what i think.

LP- Chromeo - Fancy Footwork

Canada is a cool place for living and making music. I use to live in Montreal a few years ago and went to many concerts and parties in the center of the city. Metric, DFA1979 (RIP, now half of this band is running MSTRKRFT), MSTRKRFT duo are well know awesome bands.

The montreal duo band Chromeo is also a famous excellent canadian duo which stays in the 80's funki sounds.

Moog synth, funny lyrics, talk box, simmons electronic drum beats and groovy sounds are in each songs of the new album. About inspiration, i think about old Herbie Hancock albums.

From my point of view, making electronic music is a story which means being in love with synths. I love various kind of synths from FM digital ones to VSTi and to analog ones, but analog synths sounds really fantastic. I love the warm sounds for bass, and the first time i played on the ATC1 synth rack (a few year ago), i just spend 15 hours playing on it, enjoying the round, powerful, human, fat, fantastic sounds. I cost me more than 1000 euros to get this beast but i will never give it back !!!! What is trully amazing with this pure 100% analog synth : 4 differents filters you can use for 4 different synths in one, midi controllable, lots of features to create complex sequenced sounds (lfo ...), one of the best analog mono synth of all time. and for me, it means hours and hours of happiness while playing on it. I am not sure SE still producing it.

Basically, italo disco is mostly based on crazy drum beats (old school linn, DMX ones), fat synths and vocoder, and a really strong sense of humour. and this is why i love it.

Some of you will tell me that it is a little bit old fashionned, maybe, but for me it is a huge source of inspiration and something sampling too.

I am a huge fan of Mike Mareen Italo master. This guy is huge and funny too :

Audiorealism Drum Machine ADM

As most of you already know, some instruments became like symbols of a generation of music makers. If you speak about techno or any kinds of electronic beat sequenced music you might always find mentions of TR909, TR808 and TR606 roland drum machines. They have been used in many styles of music from rap to electro, hip hop, house, experimental .... from their producing date til now.

Basically, it is quite impossible to find the original ones for a decent price but the audiorealism software company from Sweden did a really awesome job by creating a virtual all in one box version of those mythic drummachines. After, the great clone of TB303 synth, i advice you to have an ear on this soft : (personnality, it will replace my drumstation novation...).

I am doing music for 13 years now and during this time i had the opportunity to test many different softwares from the classic sequencers to the most advanced modular ones (max msp, reaktor, csound ....). As the british formula says "the easier the better", and if you are looking for something easy and powerful you might have a look and an ear or two on the audiomulch audio software from master Ross Bencina (who actually lives in Australia).

Superb audio engine, original approach in connecting modules, despite some lacks in midi sequencing, this software is one of the most intuitive, comprehensive and powerful ones i have ever used. it is now a central part of my musical setup and i still wait for the next release 2.0. i did buy it because i think i deserve it and it is not expensive. Give it a try and let me know. Ross Bencina, the "mulch-creator" is also really connected thru mulch-dedicated forums and really open to communicate about the mulch. mulch is a must for live acts and live DSP processing. period.

Respect for your work Ross. :-)

Let's say that this second attempt of remix was inspired by blackstrobe juno arp dark sounds and evolving sequences. As all my songs, it has been recorded live in audiomulch. with my mouse as unique controller. So it is not so perfect in terms of sequencing but i love to have a live approach in doing music and dont like classic sequencing approach !!! Let's say this is the way it is !!!
